Job Summary:

The Offset Second Press Operator plays a crucial role in assisting the First Press Operator in setting up and operating Press equipment to customer-supplied specifications. This position requires strong organizational and quality control skills to maintain production standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor signature quality by assisting in setting and monitoring color, adhering to Sheridan's Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for quality.
  • Assist in maintaining register, fold, and compensation, identifying and correcting issues.
  • Set up and operate equipment by configuring press computers, units, folders, and auxiliary equipment, and performing preventative maintenance.
  • Assist in webbing up press.
  • Ensure cleanliness and assist in keeping press mechanically maintained.
  • Perform other duties associated with safety, quality, and production.
  • Train employees as needed.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Able to accurately read and follow Standard Operating Procedures and job information.
  • Able to accurately identify color and press defects on product.
  • Able to match the product to the sample from the customer.
  • Able to utilize the computer to ensure quality of product.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience working as a Press Assistant I and II.
  • Computer and mechanical aptitude.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to stand/work 12 hours on a 3 day/4 day weekly rotation, and a monthly shift rotation with overtime hours as needed.
