In alignment with our Mission and Guiding Principles, the Cardiovascular Imaging Specialist is tasked with conducting Echocardiography and/or Vascular diagnostic assessments in accordance with Accreditation Standards.

Responsibilities include reporting preliminary findings for physician review, adhering to the organization's standards, policies, and procedures.

Patient Care:
Conducts all examinations in compliance with established protocols and standards set by the accrediting body.

Reports abnormal findings accurately.

Communicates procedures to patients and addresses their inquiries.

Ensures patient comfort and assists with transportation as necessary.

Documentation:
Collects relevant health history.

Inputs precise and complete data into diagnostic equipment and documentation systems.

Verifies report accuracy before distribution.

Collaboration/Communication:
Shares relevant patient information with appropriate team members.

Works collaboratively with other departments to ensure optimal patient care.

Equipment Resource Management:
Possesses knowledge of all equipment relevant to the specific testing area.

Capable of performing basic troubleshooting.

Engages in the evaluation of new equipment.

Initiative:
Takes responsibility for personal professional growth.

Maintains registry status or actively seeks certification.

Completes annual competency requirements.

Participates in the accreditation and re-accreditation processes.

Computer Skills:
Effectively utilizes computers relevant to testing areas, including timekeeping systems and clinical information systems.

Performance Improvement:
Assists in the development of departmental monitoring and data collection.

Engages in performance improvement workgroups.

Requirements/Qualifications:
Registered by the ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) as a RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) or RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) or registered by CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International) as a RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer) or RVS (Registered Vascular Specialist).
BLS certification required.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred.
A minimum of one (1) year of experience in cardiovascular imaging is preferred.
