About the Role

As a Heavy Equipment Repair Specialist at US Foods, Inc., you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our fleet by performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing diesel equipment. This includes tractors, trailers, refrigeration units, and other heavy-duty vehicles.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of $26.00 per hour, along with an excellent benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401K, life insurance, and more. Eligible new hires will receive a $5,000 retention bonus.

Job Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with diesel equipment to ensure efficient repair and minimize downtime.
  • Performing routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements, to extend the lifespan of our vehicles.
  • Repairing and replacing damaged or worn-out components, including transmissions, axles, and suspension systems.
  • Conducting road service calls and performing rescue operations when necessary.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all repairs, maintenance activities, and inventory levels.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3 years of commercial diesel mechanic experience or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of diesel equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and efficiently.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a degree in a related field is preferred.

Physical Requirements

This role requires:

  • Frequent standing, walking, and climbing, with occasional lifting of up to 120-150 pounds (2-man lift).
  • Push/pull, climb/balance, stoop/squat, bend, reach above shoulder, grasp objects, manipulate objects, twisting.
