About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at US Foods, Inc. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our fleet operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex heavy equipment issues, including diesel engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements, to prevent breakdowns and extend the lifespan of our vehicles.
- Collaborate with other technicians and supervisors to prioritize repairs, allocate resources, and meet deadlines.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and parts inventory, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with drivers, managers, and other stakeholders to resolve issues efficiently.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial heavy equipment repair or a related field.
- Strong understanding of diesel engine mechanics, electrical systems, and hydraulic principles.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a focus on safety and quality.
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate company vehicles.
