Process Technician, Plastics Injection Molding Specialist

Midland Recruiters is seeking an experienced Injection Molding Process Technician to join our team in the Cleveland, OH area.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Troubleshoot equipment processing problems related to product quality, ensuring efficient production and minimizing downtime.
  • Complete all required production and quality assurance documentation, maintaining accurate records and adhering to regulatory standards.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and execute continuous improvement suggestions to enhance operating efficiency, productivity, and overall performance.
  • Follow all safety procedures in completion of job duties, prioritizing employee well-being and adhering to OSHA guidelines.
  • Verify all safety-related devices, machine guarding, signage, etc., are in place and functioning prior to releasing equipment for production, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Wear required PPE, adhering to company safety protocols and regulations.
  • Participate in 6S events and sustain 6S standards through good housekeeping and execution of standard work, including knowledge of lock out, tag out procedures.
  • Maximize the flow of communication for effective performance within the department and between shifts, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Utilize LEAN Thinking in formal and informal settings, including participating in LEAN Events (Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, Projects, Just-Do-It), submitting suggestions, attending LEAN Training, and improving work cell/areas of responsibility daily.
  • Use visual tools and display boards and update them as appropriate, promoting transparency and accountability.
  • Document all changes resulting from LEAN activities, maintaining a record of improvements and lessons learned.
  • Accept and embrace change necessary for continuous improvement, demonstrating adaptability and a growth mindset.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with co-workers by willingness to take on additional responsibility and/or support, promoting a positive and inclusive work culture.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements:


  • Three to five years of prior related work experience with plastic injection molding processing and equipment knowledge, set-up and maintenance.
  • Working knowledge/ability to set-up injection molding equipment to achieve desired specification.
  • Equipment and mechanical aptitude to perform processing, mold and equipment troubleshooting.
  • Basic computer skills needed with solid understanding of equipment and mechanical aptitude.
  • Good organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet operational deadlines while training others.
  • Flexibility/dependability to meet demands of 24-hour operations - weekend and/or evenings probable.
  • Knowledge of lockout/tagout, machine guarding and applicable OSHA safety standards.
