Job Description

We're currently hiring seasonal scribes to work between October and February. As a Scribe, you'll play a crucial role in capturing accurate and detailed documentation of patient encounters into our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Capture accurate and detailed documentation of patient encounters into the EMR in a timely manner
  • Assist physicians with basic patient care and medical procedures
  • Assist site managers with directing patient flow, inventory, and following up on lab results
  • Ensure site lab compliance with Department of Health (DOH) regulations
  • Provide exceptional customer service to our patients, adhering to established protocols and work processes
Essential Functions:
  • Assist physicians with basic patient care and medical procedures, including phlebotomy, Urine Drug Screens, rapid strep, UA, EKG, and procedure set-ups
  • Ensure Department of Health (DOH) compliance of site lab and exam rooms, including logbook maintenance, checking for expired medications and supplies, and proper handling of specimens
  • Escort patients to exam rooms, x-rays, or other facilities on site as needed
  • Ability to maintain a quick pace in a fast-paced urgent care facility for the duration of scheduled shifts
  • Facilitate diagnostic tests and referrals to medical specialists for follow-up care via Aftercare
  • Communicate with patients, pharmacies, and physicians over the phone under physician guidance
  • Maintain a clean, courteous, and professional working environment
  • Ensure the site is fully stocked with supplies
  • Provide compassionate care to our patients
Qualifications:
  • High School Degree or GED, Undergraduate degree a plus
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program and/or phlebotomy and EKG certifications a plus, but not required (training will be provided)
  • Friendly and professional with excellent bedside manner
  • Flexible with full-time work schedule, including weekends
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Must exhibit passion for outstanding results and compassion for those we work with and serve
  • Team player
  • Flexible with full-time work schedule, including weekends
  • Knowledge of third-party payor requirements preferred
  • Strong aptitude for detail and ability to work independently required
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills required
  • Computer proficiency
  • Happy and positive thinking, able to project this attitude around others
  • Flexible and adaptable nature to work in a continuously evolving environment
  • Passion for helping others in an urgent care environment
  • Bilingual language skills required or preferred based on site location
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire

Physical Requirements: The job may require lifting light to moderate amounts of weight (e.g., boxes of medical/facility supplies) to assist team members. The ability to maintain a quick pace in a fast-paced urgent care facility for the duration of scheduled shifts is also required.

Pay Rate: $19.75/hr
