Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Surgical Technology Trainee, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring all surgical equipment and instruments are functional and organized.
- Assisting healthcare professionals in delivering care to patients undergoing surgery.
- Verifying that the necessary instruments and supplies are prepared and available in the operating room.
- Supporting the sterile surgical team by performing scrub and circulating duties, as well as routine housekeeping tasks.
- Applying aseptic techniques, infection control protocols, and ethical medical practices.
- Facilitating the safe execution of surgical procedures.
- Positioning patients on the operating table and preparing the surgical site.
- Assisting the circulating nurse with maintaining accurate counts of needles, sponges, and instruments.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Current certification as a Surgical Technologist.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
