Job Summary

The Radiologic Technologist will coordinate services and activities specific to the Imaging area. Monitors all technical clerical functions, which include efficient patient throughput and effective utilization of equipment and human resources, based upon patient load.

Responsibilities
  • Perform all diagnostic radiographic procedures including ER, surgical, fluoroscopic and portable radiographs
  • Select and operate radiography equipment, imaging and/or associated accessories to successfully perform procedures.
  • Select appropriate protocols to obtain desired results.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
  • Document, on the images or in writing, information seen during exam.
  • Relay to physicians any relevant patient information.
  • Follow all hospital guidelines regarding radiation protection and applies principles of radiation safety to minimize risk to patient, self and others.
  • Provide optimum patient care during exams.
  • Operate all computer systems (Meditech, RAD module, OE, PCI, PACS, etc.) that relate to the individual's job assignment and department operations.
  • Participate in call rotation as needed
  • Perform other department related duties as needed and assigned.
Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Associate Degree: Graduate of an educational program in radiology accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or graduate of an American Medical Association approved program in Radiologic Technology or a military training program of equivalent standards.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES

Licensed as a Medical Radiologic Technologist with the Texas Medical Board (TMB) Registered Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
