Job Title: Code Enforcement Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Code Enforcement Officer. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Job Summary:

The Code Enforcement Officer will be responsible for enforcing codes and regulations related to land development, building construction, and property maintenance. This includes conducting inspections, investigating complaints, and preparing reports. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enforce codes and regulations related to land development, building construction, and property maintenance
  • Conduct inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with regulations
  • Prepare reports and documents related to code enforcement activities
  • Communicate with property owners, developers, and other stakeholders to resolve compliance issues
  • Work collaboratively with other departments and agencies to achieve compliance goals
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three years of experience in a related field, such as code enforcement, building inspection, or land use planning
  • Florida Driver's license
  • Florida Association of Code Enforcement Level One (1) Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as urban planning, architecture, or engineering
  • Experience with code enforcement software and technology
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to land development and building construction
Work Environment:

The Code Enforcement Officer will work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team setting and communicate complex information to stakeholders.
