We are seeking a highly skilled Code Enforcement Officer to join our team at the City of Port Orange. As a Code Enforcement Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with City, State, and Federal codes.

Job Summary

The Code Enforcement Officer will be responsible for interpreting and enforcing all documents related to City, State, and Federal codes. This includes performing daily inspections, applying codes, and determining if violations exist. The successful candidate will also be responsible for researching property ownership, preparing documents, and maintaining files.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and enforce City, State, and Federal codes
  • Perform daily inspections and apply codes
  • Determine if violations exist and take necessary action
  • Research property ownership and prepare documents
  • Maintain files and update case actions
  • Notify and update relevant individuals of case actions
  • Follow state and local procedures for enforcement
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Three (3) years full-time professional or technical experience in a development-related capacity
  • Florida Driver's license
  • Florida Association of Code Enforcement Level One (1) Certification
Working Environment

The Code Enforcement Officer will work in a fast-paced environment and will be required to work in outside weather conditions. The successful candidate will also be required to safely maneuver a motor vehicle and collect items on the side of or encroaching the roadway.
