Campus Security Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Campus Security Specialist to join our team at Acton-Agua Dulce Unified. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors on campus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct investigations of incidents occurring on school grounds
- Patrol school buildings, yards, and parking areas to maintain security and deter crime
- Supervise student conduct to prevent vandalism, theft, and other illegal activities
- Effectively manage student behavior in a school site setting
- Control crowds at special events to ensure physical safety
- Assist in directing emergency evacuations and other safety activities
- Participate in ongoing training activities related to security and safety
Requirements:
- Completion of 12th grade or equivalent
- Valid California Driver's License
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- Possession of or willingness to pursue Security/Safety certification
- Minimum of 1 year experience conducting investigations and writing reports
Knowledge and Skills:
- California Education Code 48900 (student discipline)
- Record keeping techniques
- Basic investigation techniques
- Health and safety regulations relevant to a safe school environment
- Social behavior of adolescents
Working Conditions:
- Visual ability to read and display screen of office equipment
- Able to conduct verbal conversation
- Able to hear normal range verbal conversation
- Able to sit, stand, stoop, kneel, bend, and walk
- Able to stand or walk for sustained periods of time
- Able to climb slopes, stairs, steps, ramps, and ladders
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Able to carry up to 50 pounds
