Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Compensation Claims Specialist to join our team at Elite. As a key member of our claims department, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of indemnity claims handling from inception to conclusion.

This is a temp-to-hire position with an estimated salary range of $90,000 - $95,000 per year, plus temporary employment hourly wage of $43.26 - $45.66/hour.

About the Role

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on very complex claims, conduct investigations, and determine compensability of claims based on state law and company guidelines.

You will also manage medical treatment and billing, communicate with claimants, providers, and vendors, and compute and set reserves within company guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of 150-180 workers' compensation files, including complex claims.
  • Initiate and conduct investigations in a timely manner.
  • Determine compensability of claims and administer benefits according to state law and company guidelines.
  • Manage medical treatment and billing, authorizing as appropriate.
  • Communicate with claimants, providers, and vendors regarding claims issues.
  • Compute and set reserves within company guidelines.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred).
  • Five or more years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Technical knowledge of statutory regulations and medical terminology.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
