Overview

The Detroit Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Nurse Coordinator to join our team in the Operating Room. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our OR department.

Job Summary

In this role, you will serve as a clinical resource person, assisting the Clinical Manager in planning and facilitating staff meetings and staff development. You will also collaborate with the manager to monitor staffing levels and ensure adequate nurse-patient ratios on each shift. Additionally, you will facilitate shared decision-making among staff, improve unit throughput, and provide in-service programs to enhance staff competence.

Responsibilities
  • Function as lead and resource person for nursing personnel
  • Assist Clinical Manager in planning and facilitating staff meetings and staff development
  • Collaborate with manager to monitor staffing levels and ensure adequate nurse-patient ratios on each shift
  • Facilitate shared decision-making among staff
  • Provide in-service programs to enhance staff competence
Requirements
  • Associates Degree/Diploma required; BSN preferred
  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by the state of Michigan
  • One to two years of progressively more responsible experience with evidence of increasing leadership abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, delegate to others, and facilitate processes
  • Minimum Level 6 of the Promoting Excellence Performance Criteria (internal candidates preferred)
  • BLS required; ACLS preferred
Compensation and Benefits

Our estimated salary for this position is $83,000 - $115,000 per year, based on location and experience.
