Job Summary

The Clinical Assistant/Medical Assistant team member plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinics. Key responsibilities include:

  • Greeting and preparing patients for their visit in a prompt, friendly, and professional manner.
  • Performing clinical intake interviews to obtain health history, allergies, and reconciling medication lists.
  • Accurately updating patient electronic medical records.
  • Assisting with narcotic counts and preparing lab samples for transport.
  • Ensuring proper storage of biohazardous materials and maintaining infection control.
  • Generating patient informed consent forms and reviewing them with patients.
  • Preparing injectable medications and assisting with clinic injections as needed.
  • Managing inventory and stock medications and supplies.

The Clinical Assistant may work at any of the Twin Cities Pain Clinic locations, depending on staffing needs. This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and previous medical/healthcare experience is preferred but not required. All training is provided on site.

Requirements
  • Proficient in typing, spelling, punctuation, grammar, and oral communication.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology.
  • Organizational skills with focus on tracking patient care and improving patient flow.
  • Professional demeanor and recognition of privacy considerations for patients and families.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Ability to work well whether alone or as part of a team.
Work Environment
