Job Overview

Sheridan is a leading print and publishing service provider seeking a skilled Bindery Assistant II to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest quality of our products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist operators with basic set-up functions in casing-in and binding.
  • Inspect product while feeding, piling down, and cartoning to ensure quality.
  • Perform casing-in functions, including moving materials, changing nipping bars, and setting in-feed, counter stacker, tapers, and/or cartoning machines.
  • Operate binder functions, including moving materials, loading and setting stream feeders, moving conveyors, counting leftover materials, and other basic machine set-up.
  • Feed, check, and take products off the line.
  • Collate, wrap, and repair product.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Requirements:

  • Basic mechanical and math skills.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of arithmetic and English language skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with regular exposure to dust, dirt, noise, and physical hazards of machinery. Position requires ability to move with ease in the production area, remain in stationary position for prolonged periods, and use hands and fingers constantly for handling, gripping, and manipulating product.
