SalaryThe hourly rate for this position is $19.98-$22.00, depending on experience.
Job DescriptionThe Confined Space Safety Specialist is responsible for ensuring the safe entry and exit of confined spaces, as well as monitoring for fire hazards and other potential dangers. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Monitoring the space for signs of fire or other hazards
- Ensuring proper ventilation and safety equipment are in place
- Verifying that entrants have completed required safety training and are wearing proper personal protective equipment
- Providing clear instructions and guidance to entrants
This role also requires the ability to think critically and make quick decisions in emergency situations. If desired, the successful candidate may receive foundational technician training.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of safety procedures and protocols
Experience is not required, but it is a plus. Previous experience as a confined space attendant, fire watch, bottle watch, rope rescue technician, or hole watch is highly valued.
