The estimated annual salary for this position is $111,850 - $169,269, based on a 36-hour workweek.

Job Description

As a Respiratory Care Specialist, you will provide advanced-level respiratory care to patients, including diagnosing, evaluating, treating, managing, and controlling deficiencies or abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system. You will act as a resource to certified respiratory therapy staff and may be responsible for special clinical projects or assignments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic testing procedures according to protocol, interpret results, and evaluate patient condition.
  • Administer medications in a timely and safe manner, evaluate their effect, and re-evaluate patient condition as needed.
  • Maintain awareness of assigned patients' overall condition, communicate with physicians and nurses, and make recommendations for patient care.
  • Teach patients and families self-care techniques and modalities, recognizing their educational needs related to health promotion and wellness.
  • Complete documentation according to departmental standards, accurately document productivity information, and monitor supplies and equipment.
  • Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives, identify potential areas for improvement, and contribute ideas or feedback in departmental meetings.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved program for Respiratory Therapy.
  • Current license for Respiratory Therapy in the state of practice.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist certification.
  • Health Care Provider Life Support certification.
  • ACLS certification for critical care.
