Job Title: Logistics Coordinator

Overview:

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the Material Handling team and Tool Crib, ensuring that all shipping and receiving operations are executed safely and efficiently. This role requires expertise in managing complex mixed loads, typically involving flatbed transportation. A successful candidate will exhibit strong leadership capabilities and have a proven track record in organizing shipments while maintaining a tidy and secure yard.

Essential Skills and Competencies:

  • Supervise the staging and pre-staging of freight to guarantee timely loading of trucks.
  • Provide daily oversight of the Material Handling team and Tool Crib operations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure data entry is current.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the yard and warehouse areas, prioritizing safety.
  • Possess knowledge of and safely operate various industrial tools and equipment.
  • Work independently while maintaining an organized and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop load manifests and manage the effective transportation of freight.
  • Ensure all trucks and trailers are loaded safely, securely, and completely.
  • Monitor and track:
    • ISI trucks, trailers, and tools
    • Inventory of frequently used parts
    • Items dispatched to and returned from job sites
  • Procure parts, tools, bottled gases, and other consumables as needed.
  • Receive and fulfill requests from job sites for parts, tools, and components.
  • Coordinate job site deliveries, including truck availability scheduling.
  • Conduct periodic inspections of all ISI trucks, toolboxes, and their contents.
  • Ensure proper sign-out and check-in procedures for ISI company trucks and tools, along with regular audits.
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager/Shop Foreman to ensure efficient project completion.
  • Perform light rigging as required.
  • Occasionally deliver items to customer or job sites.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform essential functions of the role, including standing, walking, climbing, crouching, stooping, kneeling, and bending.
  • Capable of lifting up to 75 pounds regularly.
  • Experience operating tools and performing mechanical or skilled trade tasks.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various environmental conditions.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma preferred.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience, particularly with complex mixed loads involving parts, tools, and equipment.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills are essential.
  • Availability to work weekends and overtime as necessary.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Proficiency in computer applications is required.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is mandatory.
  • A CDL is advantageous but not required.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on deadlines.
