About This Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Furniture/Lead Clerk at Kroger. As a key member of our sales floor team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining a safe and clean store environment, and achieving sales and profit goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service, answering questions, and making product recommendations.
  • Store Maintenance: Maintain a safe and clean store environment, adhering to all local, state, and federal health and civil codes.
  • Product Knowledge: Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and be able to respond to customer questions and make suggestions.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions and note any discrepancies.
  • Merchandising: Demonstrate creative merchandising and condition all products in assigned sections according to company policy.
  • Cash Handling: Understand and perform cashier functions.
  • Loss Prevention: Ensure that all current merchandising, customer service, labor control, expense, and supply controls, loss prevention, maintenance, safety, food safety, associate, and customer engagement rules are being followed.
  • Safety and Security: Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify store management.
Requirements
  • Effective Communication: Effective communication skills.
  • Math Skills: Knowledge of basic math: counting, addition, and subtraction.
  • Stress Management: Ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to meet the minimum physical demands of the position.
  • Age Requirement: Must be 18 or older.
