Position Overview

The Floor Care Specialist plays a crucial role in enhancing the overall experience for residents by ensuring meticulous maintenance of all flooring areas and upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation. Attention to detail and cleanliness are vital in delivering the exceptional service that Grand Living promises to its residents and their families. The Floor Care Specialist will thoroughly clean and maintain various flooring types in resident units and common areas, including back-of-house, and will perform tasks such as stripping and waxing as required or assigned, in line with community standards and procedures. This role demands a friendly, courteous, helpful, timely, and professional approach in all interactions, ultimately leading to high levels of resident satisfaction. The Floor Care Specialist operates under the general guidance of the Director of Environmental Services, adhering to community standards, processes, and practices.

Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate for the Floor Care Specialist position should possess the following qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Experience in floor care is preferred.
  • Prior cleaning experience is required.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English to interact with residents, guests, and colleagues; to explain and document resident requests, understand work assignments, and interpret product labels and community communications.
  • Capability to scrub and scour surfaces, reach overhead for cleaning tasks, and work in confined spaces.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull, and maintain continuous activity without extended periods of sitting.
  • Ability to lift or carry up to 20 pounds and maneuver carts weighing up to 50 pounds.
