Job Summary:

As an EEG Technician at Christus Health, you will be responsible for operating an electroencephalograph to measure impulse frequencies and differences in electrical potential between various areas of the brain. Your role will involve studying wave characteristics during tests to detect evidence of brain disorders and marking graphs accordingly for study by physicians or neurologists. You will also write reports indicating unusual wave characteristics shown on tracings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform EKGs using the Marquette MAC VU, 12, 8, and PC machines
• Conduct electrocardiograms for in-patient and outpatient populations, including all ages
• Perform routine EEGs, long-term video EEG monitoring for evaluation of possible abnormal brain activity and for epilepsy and medicine modification
• Conduct Transcranial Doppler studies for evaluation of cerebral blood flow
• Perform accurate Evoked Potential recording (Visual Evoked Responses, and Modified Baer)
• Perform Holter monitor hookup and scanning of holter monitor tapes
• Perform 12 or 24-hour pneumogram hook-up with or without pulse oximetry for in-patient pediatrics and neonates
• Conduct cardiac exercise treadmill testing, routine, and pharmacological and Tilt table stress
• Schedule all patients for any and all procedures performed in the department that require an appointment
• Maintain all diagnostic equipment by ensuring they are properly functioning and cleaned after every patient
• Notify physicians daily for exam interpretation and file reports
• Check weekly for needed supplies

Requirements:

• High School Diploma
• Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications: BLS
• Work Type: Per Diem As Needed
