Position Overview


Under the guidance of the Director of Educational Services and the supervision of the English Learner Coordinator, the English Language Acquisition Instructor plays a crucial role in supporting English Learners within the charter. This position aims to enhance student performance in alignment with the California State Standards and the California English Language Development Standards.

The instructor will tailor educational strategies to meet the unique needs of each student through effective, evidence-based practices.

Collaboration with students, parents, Professional Learning Teams (PLT), and other educational staff is essential to create a personalized plan that fosters student achievement and ensures proficiency in the English language.


Qualifications and Requirements

Bilingual (Spanish) proficiency is preferred.
Experience with online educational platforms, including Zoom, is advantageous.

Important Notes:
All new hires for Personalized Learning Teacher positions will commence at step 1 (the column will be determined based on official transcripts). Candidates must reside within the counties served by Gorman Learning Charter Network.

Upon hiring, the successful candidate will need to provide:

  • Proof of Vehicle Insurance with Bodily Injury Liability of $100,000/$300,000.
  • Cleared Live Scan fingerprint results.
  • Current TB clearance.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification for infants, adults, and children.
  • Participation in PLT training will be provided.
  • Completion of Mandated Reporter online training.
  • Additional online training as required.

Additional Information

Candidates must reside within the counties served by Gorman Learning Charter Network.

  • The Gorman Learning Charter Network operates under an Independent Study model, allowing for remote work.
  • This is a full-time position.
  • The role serves students in designated areas.
  • Training and mentorship will be provided to assist new teachers in adapting to the Independent Study model.
  • A California clear multiple subject or clear single subject credential is required; intern credentials cannot be accommodated.
  • Previous experience in an independent study program is preferred but not mandatory.
