Job Summary

Sage Oak Charter Schools is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Paraprofessional (Bilingual Support Specialist) to join our team. As a key member of our instructional support team, you will provide virtual and in-person academic support to students in various subjects, including mathematics, English language arts, science, and history.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide virtual and in-person instructional support to students in small groups or individually, focusing on areas such as mathematics, English language arts, science, and history.
  • Utilize evidence-based instructional methods to achieve academic goals and objectives, and assist in implementing best practices to raise student achievement.
  • Assist in preparing lessons and instructional materials for students as directed by administrators.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records as required.
  • Attend virtual and in-person school meetings, including department meetings, coffee talks, and regional meetings.
  • Participate in in-person student events, such as field trips, socials, and academic events, as requested.
  • Substitute for online learning opportunities as needed.
  • Perform various tasks related to the duties of the department, as assigned.
  • Provide services to students during regular business hours, unless prior approval has been granted by the supervisor.
  • Offer in-home and in-person services, if necessary.
Requirements
  • Earn a minimum of 48 college units or hold a college degree.
  • One year of experience working with school-age children in an organized setting is preferred.
  • State and federal fingerprint clearance (LiveScan) to work with students.
  • Proof of a clear TB Tine test dated within the last 60 days.
  • Hold and maintain a valid California Driver's License, proof of automobile insurance, and full-time use of a dependable automobile that is insured according to California regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Computer and technology literacy, including operating office equipment and assigned software.
  • Google docs, Google spreadsheets, and other online collaboration tools.
  • Basic arithmetic calculation skills.
Work Environment

The work environment for this position is primarily office-based, with occasional in-person interactions with students and colleagues. The noise level is generally moderate, and the employee must have available transportation and be able to drive up to 100 miles in a day.
