Security Training Specialist

Job Summary

The Security Training Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of patients, visitors, and staff at UF Health. This position is responsible for leading a security officer team to respond effectively to routine operations and ensuring that security officers are trained and competent in their roles.

Key Responsibilities

• Leads a team of security officers to ensure effective response to routine operations
• Works closely with Shift Supervisors to complete assignments and ensure a secure environment
• Enforces Hospital and Department policies and procedures related to security
• Initiates, conducts, and resolves incident investigations using reports and information gathered
• Liaisons with local law enforcement agencies on incident investigations when warranted
• Performs Security Officer or Security Supervisor duties as needed

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent required
• Three years of security or law enforcement experience required
• One year of experience in a hospital or healthcare facility preferred
• Advanced Security Officers Certification through the International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS) required
• State of Florida Class 'D' Unarmed Guard's License or current Police Standards Certification required
