Job Overview:

As the Security Operations Manager in Gainesville, you will oversee a dedicated team that provides safety and security, groundskeeping, hospitality and outreach services for this downtown district. As the Operations Manager, you'll be at the heart of our operations in your community. You'll lead a dedicated team of Ambassadors responsible for providing clean, hospitality, and outreach services throughout the Downtown District. Your role is not just about management; it's about creating a strong work family and driving continual program improvements for our client.

The successful candidate will bring a strong background in security management, excellent leadership capabilities, and a deep commitment to community service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a dedicated team of Ambassadors, providing guidance, training, and support to a group of 14.
  • Procurement and Budgeting: Manage supplies, equipment, and maintenance while ensuring budget compliance.
  • Performance Management: Inspire and lead your team with praise, recognition, and accountability.
  • Project Management: Track and report outcomes through various channels, including spreadsheets, Kronos Timekeeping, and budgets.
  • Field Leadership: Lead by example in the field, offering coaching, mentoring, and continuous training.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and address any identified security vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and community stakeholders to strengthen security measures.
  • Monitor and analyze security data to inform strategic decisions.
  • Handle incident response and crisis management, ensuring prompt and effective resolutions.
  • Promote a positive and professional team culture that aligns with Block by Block’s values and mission.

Qualifications:

  • A Florida Security License: Class D, M or MB
  • Two Consecutive Years working in a Security role
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of leading a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience working with diverse community members, stakeholders, and client management.
  • Knowledge of security protocols, emergency response, and risk assessment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in security management, criminal justice, or a related field preferred. We also value a combination of experience and education.
