Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at the University of Miami Hospital - Imaging Services. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for operating MRI equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnostic and research purposes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate MRI equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnostic and research purposes
  • Set up imaging area and select appropriate coil based on information from exam triage form, attached referring physician order, and patient's screening form
  • Position patients on examining table and adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specific areas of the body
  • Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain patient safety procedures by assessing the patient physically and reviewing applicable notes and forms in patient's file
  • Perform daily quality assurance measurements on MRI equipment and report any equipment issues to the appropriate senior staff
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient information according to federal and state guidelines and University and unit-level policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Certification in a relevant specialty or field
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
  • Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary
