Job Summary:

The University of Miami is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team on a part-time basis. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for operating MRI equipment to produce high-quality images of the body for diagnostic and research purposes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate MRI equipment to produce high-quality images of the body for diagnostic and research purposes.
  • Set up imaging areas and select appropriate coils based on information from exam triage forms, referring physician orders, and patient screening forms.
  • Position patients on examining tables and adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimal views of specific areas of the body.
  • Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
  • Follow safety procedures by assessing patients physically and reviewing applicable notes and forms in patient files.
  • Perform daily quality assurance measurements on MRI equipment.
  • Report and document any equipment issues to senior staff.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient information according to federal and state guidelines and regulations.
  • Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Certification in a relevant specialty or field.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
  • Commitment to the University's core values.
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
