Procurement Specialist Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to join our team at GPAC. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting Procurement Managers with sourcing RTE (Ready to Eat) ingredients and materials for finished products.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field; a minimum of 3 years' experience in procurement, supply chain, within the food and beverage industry; and excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare proposals, request quotes, and negotiate purchase terms and conditions.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders and agreements.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues and concerns.
  • Inspect and evaluate the quality of purchased items and resolve shortcomings.
  • Analyze industry and demand trends and support senior management with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies.
  • Organize and own all sourcing projects to keep the current database up to date and add new suppliers as needed.
  • Organize and own all school bids that Tasty Brands creates products for (school, retail, finished goods, and packaging).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in procurement management within the food and beverage industry is preferred.
  • Good working knowledge of purchasing strategies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have expert experience in Excel (creating formulas, using lookups, and more).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and business application software, purchasing, and resource planning systems.
