Nuclear Medicine Technologist, First Shift

UC Health is seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our Radiology department at University of Cincinnati Medical Center. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality care to patients based on assessed needs, established standards of care, and according to policy and procedures.

Responsibilities:
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will perform nuclear medicine procedures (diagnostic and therapeutic) and organize, execute, and control laboratory and/or research studies under limited supervision. Key responsibilities include:
- Performing complex diagnostic studies (imaging and non-imaging) and therapeutic procedures.
- Operating imaging equipment (scintillation/PET cameras and counters) and related equipment (film devices, xenon traps, computers, etc.) for routine and specialty procedures.
- Performing quality control on instrumentation according to department policy and ensuring that equipment is in proper working order.
- Performing dose calculations, preparation, and administration of radiopharmaceuticals and dispensing these to patients in an appropriate manner.
- Using appropriate instrumentation or other devices, monitoring personnel, work areas, and patient rooms where applicable to ensure that levels of radiation do not exceed those defined in institutional, NRC, and Ohio Department of Health regulations.
- Receiving radioactive shipments, disposing of radioactivity, and contaminated materials in accordance with department, hospital, and federal regulatory agencies, maintaining records.
- Instructing undergraduate students, medical students, and Radiology/Cardiology residents and fellows.
- Participating in research conferences, continuing education, and workshops.
- Writing project reports, articles, and other documents, and assisting in preparing research papers and manuscripts for publication.
- Developing, reviewing, and recommending new operating policies and procedures for laboratory and clinical work.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Completion of a collegiate Nuclear Medicine Program with NMTCB Certification, required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Imaging (Nuclear Medicine), preferred.
- Ohio Department of Health Radiologic License (Nuclear Medicine) and ARRT (N) or NMTCB Certification.
- Basic Life Support Certification completed within 30 days of hire.
- 1-2 years equivalent experience, preferred.
Salary: The expected starting salary range for this position is between $34.87/hr. - $43.12/hr. The actual pay rate will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant's years of experience, unique skills and abilities, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, and other requirements for the position.
