Job Summary

As a Mobile Equipment Operator at Asarco, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment to maintain roads, dumps, tailings storage facilities, and pipeline accesses. This role requires a high level of skill and technique in operating mobile equipment, as well as the ability to work in extreme heat, cold, and other challenging conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment, including track dozers, motor graders, front-end loaders, and track excavators, to perform tasks such as benching, low banking, and slot dozing.
  • Perform work as assigned, including pushing, ripping, cutting, and filling on active roads and dumps and tailings areas.
  • Identify and mitigate hazardous loading situations, such as boulders, undercut highwalls, and sticky and conglomerate material.
  • Perform pre-operational inspections of equipment to ensure safe operation and efficient performance.
  • Work effectively with other departments on specific projects.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in operating all mobile equipment within the Hayden Slag Milling Department and associated tasks.
  • At least two years of experience as a Mobile Equipment Operator.
