We are seeking a highly skilled Health Care Financing Data Analyst II to join our team at the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS). As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in assisting in the development of various Health Care Financing (HCF) rates and payment methodologies and their associated processes.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in researching and conducting studies essential to the establishment and maintenance of various reimbursement methodologies.
- Perform quantitative and qualitative data-driven research and statistical analysis, utilizing structured and unstructured data from existing reports and resources.
- Create and implement research projects and data models, and use in-depth analyses to develop strategies and solutions for addressing immediate and ongoing needs.
- Independently research methodologies and techniques to develop time-sensitive models and reimbursement methodologies in areas where precedents are lacking and/or a sparse body of knowledge or experience in the area exists.
- Utilize deductive and inductive processes to explain major cost and utilization trends and assist in the preparation of custom reports and summaries for submission to executive management and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
Our team is divided into two units: Unit A-1, primarily focused on financial data modeling of outpatient services, and Unit B-1, primarily focused on financial data modeling of outpatient services, covering a variety of topics including Air Emergency Transportation Services, Durable Medical Equipment, Radiology, Reproductive and Family Planning Services, etc.

RequirementsTo be considered for this role, you must have a strong background or interest in Health Care Financing, strong proficiency with Microsoft Access, Excel or similar statistical software and Data Visualization, and knowledge of financial modeling. You must also be able to create stakeholder alignment and work independently to develop time-sensitive models and reimbursement methodologies.
