Work Schedule: This position typically operates Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with alternating weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess specimen acceptability for testing based on established criteria and ensure timely reporting of accurate test results to support quality patient care.
  • Conduct routine and complex technical procedures in accordance with departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to maintain optimal functionality, including performing preventive maintenance and quality control.
  • Exhibit sound judgment in making technical decisions related to testing and problem resolution.
  • Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field is required.
  • Certification from ASCP or AMT is preferred.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficient in computer usage; familiarity with laboratory information systems is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail, along with excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must pass a standardized color vision screening.
  • Willingness to work overtime or alternate shifts as needed.
