About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacy Specialist to join our team at the Department of Veterans Affairs. As a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing expert clinical pharmacy services to our patients, with a focus on pain management and substance use disorder treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive medication management services to patients with complex medical conditions, including pain and substance use disorders.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
  • Conduct medication therapy reviews and provide recommendations for optimization of medication regimens.
  • Develop and implement educational programs for healthcare providers and patients on pain management and substance use disorder treatment.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes and reduce healthcare costs.
Requirements
  • Pharmacist licensure in the United States.
  • Graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited College or School of Pharmacy with a baccalaureate degree in pharmacy (BS Pharmacy) and/or a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree.
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Expert knowledge of pain management and substance use disorder treatment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
