We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Design West Technologies Inc. as a key member of the project development/execution team. The successful candidate will be responsible for hands-on engineering expertise in the development of electromechanical assemblies for our government customers.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee project development and execution, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project schedules.
- Design and develop mechanical parts and assemblies using SolidWorks, working closely with electrical and chemical engineers.
- Maintain organized SolidWorks part and assembly files, with experience in PDM preferred.
- Create 2D drawings and design for manufacturing.
- Maintain an up-to-date Bill of Materials (BOM) for assemblies.
- Lead prototype builds and work hands-on with the team.
- Collaborate with vendors and the purchasing department to procure prototype components.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical design, with graduate experience counted towards the minimum requirement.
- Minimum BS Mechanical Engineering or similar degree.
- Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks.
- Strong work ethics and ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Track record of delivering projects on time and on budget.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Adaptable and agile, with the ability to respond to quick changes in direction.
- Previous experience with military products and/or DOD is a plus.
- ISO 9001 or AS9100 experience.
