Position Summary
We are seeking a Project Manager for the Facility Operations Division within the General Services Department.

This role will focus on applying project management expertise in the planning, design, and construction of city-owned facilities and significant renovation initiatives.

The Project Manager will oversee a diverse range of projects related to city facilities, including planning studies, renovations, repairs, and maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage architectural and engineering contracts along with construction projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and scope.
  • Ensure alignment of projects with the city's Strategic Energy Action Plan and Sustainable Facilities Policy.
  • Act as the primary contact for Facility Construction projects.
  • Lead and manage all assigned projects effectively.
  • Handle administrative tasks related to projects, including budget negotiations and monitoring expenditures.
  • Update project schedules and track progress to meet established timelines.
  • Document decisions and maintain an action item list for project issues.
  • Schedule and facilitate meetings, documenting actions and decisions.
  • Review and process financial documents such as pay applications and contract amendments.
  • Maintain project schedules and reporting requirements as necessary.
  • Provide regular updates to supervisors regarding project status and challenges.
  • Daily presence at the facility shop is required; remote work is not an option.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, including the ability to proactively manage schedules and budgets, develop comprehensive reports, and apply engineering and construction principles effectively.

Essential skills include:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Capability to lead project teams and collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.

Some overtime and weekend availability may be required. A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are necessary.

Preferred Qualifications
Accreditations such as LEED or Green Globes are advantageous.

Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of three years of progressive project management experience in building design, construction, and maintenance.

Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems is preferred.

Salary
Compensation ranges from $96,400 to $106,545, commensurate with experience.
