Job Summary
Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead the management of water and wastewater projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil/environmental engineering, with a focus on water and wastewater design.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and direct the work efforts of assigned staff to ensure successful project delivery.
- Coordinate with management to provide technical and managerial direction on project scope, schedule, quality, and budget.
- Develop and implement effective project management strategies to meet client needs and expectations.
- Monitor project schedules and capital cost budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Prepare advanced engineering designs and technical data for completion and accuracy.
- Oversee the quality control/quality assurance process on all assigned projects.
- Negotiate with clients on scope changes relative to project budgets and schedules.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with project team members to ensure high utilization rates.
- Review monthly labor and cost reports to ensure projects are being completed at the pre-determined goal.
- Ensure all scope revisions affecting the project schedule and/or budget are discussed with the client.
- Mentor junior staff in learning sound technical and business practices.
- Manage project budgets and schedules.
- Review utility plans, including large-scale or complex projects.
- Present public testimony on projects prepared under engineer's direction.
- Complete project billing and collections within set parameters.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in environmental engineering or civil engineering.
- ~ 8-10+ years of experience in the civil/environmental engineering field with concentration in water/wastewater design.
- ~ Experience with AutoCAD & OpenRoads is desired.
- ~ Ability to manage clients and develop new business.
- ~ Design experience with water and wastewater treatment plant process and design.
- ~ Extensive knowledge in permitting requirements and processes for water/wastewater collection and treatment projects.
- ~ Ability to build a talented team of water/wastewater professionals that are experts in their field.
- ~ Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
