ABOUT THE YMCA:
With a legacy of community impact since its inception, the Plattsburgh YMCA has evolved significantly over the years. From its early beginnings to its current state, the organization has continually adapted to meet the needs of the community. We are in the midst of a significant capital campaign aimed at developing a state-of-the-art facility, reinforcing our commitment to serve over 8000 members and lead in childcare and camping services across the region.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Duties:
- Manage the CEO's calendar and coordinate schedules for designated executive staff.
- Arrange travel logistics and prepare expense documentation as required.
- Exercise discretion and independent judgment in managing confidential information related to the CEO's duties.
- Maintain secure and confidential executive and Board documentation.
- Coordinate meetings for various committees, public officials, and community groups.
- Oversee all grant-related activities for the YMCA.
- Proactively seek and secure new funding opportunities that align with the YMCA's mission.
- Maintain databases for reports, records, and communications.
- Assist in organizing special events for the association.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with vendors and community organizations.
- Support data collection and reporting for national statistics and strategic plans.
- Assist with special projects as assigned.
Development and Communication:
- Support the Association's Annual, Capital, and Planned Giving campaigns.
- Research potential funding sources and provide recommendations to leadership.
- Keep accurate records of volunteer and donor engagement for capital campaigns.
- Implement a systematic approach to donor communications and recognition.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in business, communications, or marketing, along with five years of fundraising experience, or a combination of education and experience.

- Experience in establishing and nurturing relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Proactive problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, capable of managing complex projects.
- Professional representation of the organization in various settings.
- Understanding of fundraising best practices and proficiency in Microsoft Office and donor management systems.
- Experience with social media platforms for organizational communication.
- Able to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively.
- Ability to perform well under pressure in a dynamic environment.
- CPR and First Aid certifications required within a specified timeframe after hiring.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The physical demands of this role require the ability to perform essential functions in various indoor and outdoor settings. The employee must be capable of using a computer for extended periods and effectively communicating through digital platforms. Regular movement around the work environment is necessary, along with the ability to lift and move items as needed. The work environment typically maintains a moderate noise level.
