Job Summary

The Security Officer is a critical role at Roper St. Francis Healthcare, responsible for providing protective services to our facilities, patients, visitors, and staff. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide armed security services to Roper St. Francis Healthcare facilities, patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Deter crime and control access points to prevent unauthorized entry.
  • Operate and manage electronic visitor management systems to ensure secure access.
  • Enforce access guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe environment.
  • Respond to critical incidents and provide assistance as needed.
  • Conduct initial investigations and complete reports and forms as required.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and at least 18 years of age.
  • Prior work experience in safety or security, security in a healthcare facility, law enforcement, or the military preferred.
  • Ability to achieve and maintain SLED license requirements (armed - TASER) within six months in position.
  • Ability to obtain Taser Training certification within 60 days in position.
