Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Clinic Coordinator to join our team at Retina Consultants of Texas. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support to our physicians and patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain patient history, including chief complaint, history of present illness, and current medications.
  • Perform and document visual acuity, confrontational visual fields, and other necessary tests.
  • Provide compassionate patient care and support throughout the clinic flow.
  • Perform opening and closing duties, including inventory management and equipment maintenance.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment in exam and procedure rooms.
  • Provide backup support to the ophthalmic photographer and troubleshoot equipment as needed.
  • Assist physicians with laser procedures, injections, and minor procedures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma required; some college preferred.
  • One to two years' experience in a medical office setting preferred.
  • Certification as an ophthalmic assistant preferred.
  • Valid CPR certification required.
Physical Abilities
  • Ability to move frequently from standing and sitting.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to type or write legibly in a dimly-lit setting.
  • Ability to hear softly spoken words.
  • Ability to add support for patients getting in and out of exam chairs.
  • Lifting required up to 50 pounds.
