Job Summary

This position is responsible for enforcing municipal codes and regulations within the City of Arvada. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of property maintenance codes and be able to effectively communicate with the public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and enforce code violations, including property maintenance and zoning regulations
  • Conduct on-site inspections of commercial and residential properties to ensure compliance with codes and regulations
  • Issue summonses and work orders as necessary to enforce code compliance
  • Collaborate with other city departments and agencies to ensure effective code enforcement
  • Provide excellent customer service to the public, responding to complaints and inquiries in a professional and courteous manner
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher preferred
  • Two years of experience in code enforcement or a related field, with a strong understanding of property maintenance codes and regulations
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate a city vehicle
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities
Working Conditions

This position requires frequent travel to various locations within the city, including residential and commercial properties, as well as city facilities. The successful candidate must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
