Position Overview:
LDIS LLC, a subsidiary of Tetra Tech, offers comprehensive engineering and design solutions across various sectors, including Energy, Petrochemicals, Renewables, Water Treatment, and Life Sciences. Our team adapts to evolving client needs, establishing trust and delivering exceptional service. Our projects encompass advanced technologies such as Hydrogen Electrolysis, Ammonia Production Facilities, Renewable Natural Gas Processing, Emissions Reduction Studies, and Carbon Capture and Sequestration.

Your Responsibilities:
A mechanical engineer's foremost duty is to ensure safety. You will specify, review, and oversee the design of mechanical systems and piping, guaranteeing they meet safety, economic, and reliability standards. Your role will involve:

  • Leading a discipline engineering team on projects independently.
  • Reviewing designs and contributing to the development of design guides and control procedures.
  • Acting as the lead engineer or technical expert across various project sizes.
  • Managing engineering activities while maintaining project schedules and budgets.
  • Conducting engineering tasks and supervising a team of engineers.
  • Performing engineering calculations and developing analytical models.
  • Mentoring junior engineers.
  • Collaborating with other disciplines, vendors, clients, and contractors.
  • Creating specifications and data sheets for mechanical and packaged equipment.
  • Maintaining equipment and piping specialty item lists.
  • Identifying and interpreting relevant industry codes and standards.
  • Preparing material requisitions and evaluating technical bids.
  • Overseeing vendor drawing reviews for compliance with specifications.
  • Conducting engineering calculations related to piping and flow dynamics.
  • Providing mechanical engineering insights to support other disciplines.
  • Facilitating coordination meetings with equipment vendors.
  • Utilizing vendor software for preliminary equipment sizing and selection.
  • Estimating budgetary costs and delivery timelines for equipment.
  • Participating in project and client meetings, including design reviews.
  • Preparing detailed specifications outlining performance requirements and design codes.
  • Visiting vendor facilities and job sites as required.
  • Preparing purchase requisitions and reviewing vendor drawings.
  • Serving as a technical resource for the mechanical group.
  • Focusing on safe, efficient, and cost-effective design practices.
Qualifications:
  • Required: ABET accredited Institution, BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • EIT certification.
  • PE license required with established NCEES record; exemptions considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Minimum of 25 years of engineering experience; specialized certifications may be considered.
  • Experience in the Oil and Gas sector is highly recommended.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively to achieve shared goals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with Bluebeam is advantageous.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced project environment and manage multiple priorities.

Compensation: Salary range is $50.00-$65.00, depending on experience, education, and location.
