Location: Coast Guard Community Services Command
Work Schedule: Part-Time
Key Responsibilities:
- Designs and implements engaging early childhood educational activities using diverse materials to foster the emotional, social, intellectual, and physical growth of children.
- Collaborates with educational leaders to develop and execute age-appropriate curricula and programs.
- Creates a nurturing environment that encourages positive interactions among children, youth, and adults.
- Facilitates and leads planned activities for participants, ensuring a safe and supportive atmosphere.
- Utilizes approved techniques for child guidance and youth development during interactions.
- Maintains professional relationships with staff, parents, and community members.
- Assists in tracking program participation and completing necessary reports.
Additional Duties:
- Prepares and organizes indoor and outdoor activity spaces to align with daily schedules.
- Supervises children in various settings, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Assists in providing nutritious snacks and meals as required.
- Performs essential caregiving tasks, including attending to children's physical needs and conducting health checks.
- Completes reports and engages with parents regarding children's progress.
- May undertake other related responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED and a minimum age of 18.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Ability to foster effective relationships with children, youth, and colleagues.
- Physical capability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds, and perform various physical activities.
- Preferred: Previous experience working with children or youth.
