Job Summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a highly skilled System Administrator I to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-level systems and applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Tier-II support for systems and applications, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Coordinate with IT teams to resolve system issues and maintain system documentation.
  • Plan and schedule system upgrades and updates, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
  • Protect hospital assets and information by maintaining secure systems and following organizational policies.
  • Verify system backups and ensure data integrity and retention.
  • Enter application data and maintain knowledge of applications and functional areas.
  • Model, design, monitor, and support system interfaces.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and escalate issues to internal and external resources.
  • Stay up-to-date with vendor roadmaps and communicate points of interest.
  • Communicate effectively with system vendors to maintain working relationships.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years of experience in a related Information Systems field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Information Systems or related field.
  • 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Technical certifications related to ITIL, Windows Administration, Linux Administration, or other IT or system-related fields.
