Key Responsibilities- Manage Retail Operations: Oversee the daily operations of the retail department, including managing store associates, merchandise quality and presentation, and customer service.
- Build Associate and Customer Relations: Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, build strong relationships with associates and customers, and promote a culture of excellence and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure Store Conditions: Maintain the highest standards of store appearance, security, safety, and food safety, and ensure that all company policies and procedures are followed.
- Manage Department Operations: Manage department operations in accordance with established department standard practices, ensure the maintenance of accurate records of production, shrink, sales, and inventory, and meet physical requirements of the position.
- Supervise Performance: Supervise the performance of all duties and responsibilities of all assigned department associates, provide recognition of accomplishments, and offer constructive counseling when necessary.
- Department Manager or Equivalent Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a retail management role, preferably in a supermarket or grocery store environment.
- Excellent Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate effectively with associates, customers, and management team members, and to build strong relationships with all stakeholders.
- Excellent Organizational and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and solve problems in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 20 lbs regularly, including overhead lifting, and to meet established volume and fixed activity standards.
- Assist in Attaining Financial Objectives: Assist in attaining financial objectives, including sales, payroll percent, gross margin, shrink, and MPP net percent effectiveness.
- Foster a Sales-Driven Culture: Foster a sales-driven culture through relationship building and promoting an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness.
- Treat Associates with Fairness and Respect: Treat all associates with fairness, dignity, and respect, and provide recognition of accomplishments and constructive counseling when necessary.
Hannaford Supermarkets offers a competitive salary range of $18.95 - $27.25 per hour, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
