Job Title: Administrative Consultant

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Administrative Consultant to join our team at the State of Iowa. As an Administrative Consultant, you will be responsible for implementing exemplary authorization practices to ensure that Iowa charter schools provide excellent educational options.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the implementation of charter school authorization practices and procedures, initiatives, and policies as defined by Iowa Code.
  • Make recommendations to the State Board of Education as the authorizing agent.
  • Create timelines, protocols, and procedures to operationalize charter school authorization processes in alignment with quality standards.
  • Serve as the single point of contact between charter schools and the Department of Education.
  • Build organizational capacity in a cross-functional authorization team.
  • Provide monthly reports to the State Board of Education.
  • Provide legislative reports as requested.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university, and experience equal to five years of full-time, professional-level work in program administration, development, management, or operations.
  • A combination of a total of nine years of education and full-time experience.
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in social work, law, education, engineering, or public or business administration, and experience equal to three years of full-time, professional-level work in program administration, development, management, or operations.
  • Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes two years of full-time work as an Education Program Consultant.
