Position Overview:

This role is contingent upon the successful award of contract. The Nursing Supervisor is accountable for overseeing and enhancing the quality of nursing services within the MEDSSI initiative.

As a key member of the leadership team, this position encompasses responsibilities related to patient care, administrative duties, and adherence to contractual obligations.

Under the guidance of the Chief Medical Officer, the Nursing Supervisor will provide professional nursing leadership while performing essential nursing tasks as necessary.


Administrative Responsibilities:


Ensure the formulation, execution, and enforcement of policies and procedures that guarantee the delivery of safe and effective nursing care.

Monitor, assess, and evaluate the quality of nursing services rendered.

Develop strategic objectives and plans for both outpatient and inpatient services, aligning short- and long-term goals with the mission and values of International SOS.

Direct nursing personnel activities in accordance with the Performance Work Statement.

Oversee the implementation of the Clinical Quality Assurance Plan.

Supervise the Medical Reception Department and coordinate emergency and surgical services.

Manage Occupational Health and Medical Surveillance Programs.

Assist in the evaluation of new hire medical credentials.

Maintain effective communication with the EMS Department.

Coordinate mass casualty training initiatives between the hospital and EMS Department.

Facilitate educational opportunities for EMS Department staff.

Personnel Management:
Identify staffing requirements and continuously assess staffing levels, making adjustments as necessary to meet clinical care and operational goals.

Define nursing personnel qualifications and competencies for the nursing department.

Ensure optimal utilization of staff and departmental resources.

Monitor overtime needs in line with minimum and optimal staffing levels, including applicable surge requirements.

Develop and manage in-service training programs for staff when internal workflow changes occur.

Coordinate orientation and refresher courses to enhance the skills of nursing personnel.

Establish and maintain strategies to promote nursing professional development.

Oversee the creation of training manuals and materials.

Evaluate employee performance against hospital, departmental, and individual goals.

Provide corrective feedback with appropriate documentation when necessary.

Assist in coordinating medical transfers for higher levels of care.

Leadership Responsibilities:
Demonstrate visibility and accessibility to staff through regular rounds, communication, and meetings.

Collaborate with nursing and medical teams to develop and assess performance standards for patient care.

Create an environment that promotes a positive workplace culture and innovative patient care solutions.

Provide clinical leadership and expertise, serving as a technical resource.

Actively participate in department head meetings and essential medical department committees.

Assess and communicate departmental needs for equipment and supplies.

Engage in and promote continuous quality improvement initiatives, implementing and communicating corrective action plans.
