Job Summary

College of the Canyons is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach in our Noncredit Parent Education program. As a member of our faculty team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students in a dynamic and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Noncredit Parent Education courses to students in a variety of settings, including on-campus and online.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback to promote academic success.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum and program initiatives.
  • Participate in department and college-wide committees to contribute to the growth and development of our institution.
Requirements
  • Masters degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Human Development, Family and Consumer Studies, Educational Psychology, or a related field.
  • Two years of professional experience in early childhood programs or parenting education.
  • Experience teaching content related to parenting strategies is highly desirable.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and administrators.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Counseling, Child Development/Early Childhood Education, or Parent Education.
  • Experience teaching online or in a hybrid format.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and instructional design principles.
