Division Chief Anesthesiology Job Description

University of Southern California (USC) is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Division Chief Anesthesiology to lead the Anesthesiology Department at Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA). The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical leadership, overseeing departmental operations, and contributing to the academic and research missions of the department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight of the Anesthesiology Department at CHLA.
  • Develop and implement departmental strategic plans to achieve clinical, educational, and research goals.
  • Collaborate with other department leaders and hospital administrators to ensure seamless integration of departmental activities with hospital-wide initiatives.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain a diverse and talented team of anesthesiologists, nurse anesthetists, and other departmental staff.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in departmental and hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Board certification in Anesthesiology and Pediatric Anesthesiology.
  • Minimum of 7 years of Pediatric Anesthesiology experience, preferably at a large, complex academic children's hospital or academic medical center.
  • Experience in leadership roles, either within an academic division or department or in enterprise positions within a hospital or health system.
  • Successful track record of leading cost management initiatives and experience with budget management.
  • Commitment to professional development, mentoring, and coaching of faculty and team members.
