We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional to serve as the Chief of the Division of General Surgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. The successful candidate will be a tenured faculty member at the Associate or Full Professor level and will hold the Robert and Kelly Day Chair in General Surgery.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional patient care and lead the Division of General Surgery in delivering high-quality clinical services.
- Pursue breakthrough research and advance the field of general surgery through innovative and translational research.
- Develop and implement educational programs to train the next generation of surgeons and medical professionals.
- Represent the Division in various capacities, including financial performance, faculty career development, research, education, and clinical care.
- Collaborate with the Department Chair and other stakeholders to achieve local, regional, and national visibility and prominence in the subspecialty of general surgery.
- Hold an M.D. degree or equivalent.
- Be board certified in surgery.
- Be eligible for licensure in the State of California.
- Have a strong track record as a clinician investigator and educator, including scholarly work in basic science, translational science, public health, global health, or social science research.
- A competitive salary commensurate with academic rank and experience.
- Membership in the health sciences compensation plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
