Safety Specialist

Vivo HealthStaff is seeking a highly skilled Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our People Operations, Security, Emergency, and facilities teams, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements and guidelines related to workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities:- Safety Program Development: Manage and develop safety programs to improve safety performance and implement organization-wide programs such as workers' compensation, fire protection, and other OSHA/Cal-OSHA compliance programs.
- Safety Action Planning: Create safety action plans to strategize approach and provide guidance in developing, monitoring, and coordinating with departments on safety programs, including safety inspections, accident investigations, and safety training.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively across departments; maintain a professional demeanor and working relationships.
- Regulatory Compliance: Coordinate with regulatory compliance as mandated by local, state, and federal agencies.
- Safety Tracking and Reporting: Develop and implement safety tracking and reporting.
- Safety Inspections: Conduct routine and follow-up safety and hazard inspections of all facilities.
- Safety Trend Analysis: Analyze and communicate safety trends, accident, and incident reports; make recommendations for correcting unsafe conditions and actions.
- Incident Analysis: Partner with department supervisor to conduct and complete incident analysis of safety incidents for proper follow-up and investigation.
- Staff Engagement: Engage staff for feedback in a bottom-up approach for improvement of the safety program and culture.
- Emergency Response: Respond to emergencies involving hazardous materials, fire, and smoke incidents, or unknown hazards; prepare reports of findings and submit recommendations.
- Strong Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Organizational and Time Management Skills: Strong organizational, time management, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills required.
- Safety Program Experience: Experience in developing, implementing, and enforcing safety programs and protocols.
- OSHA Certification: Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations, protocols, and procedures. Ability to investigate, analyze information, and draw conclusions.
- Team Player: Team player attitude is required.
